At Bournemouth Hospital we have a Heart Club, probably much the same
as your facility. Please may I bring the services of our charity to
the attention of your members as some may find this as much of a life
line as your group. Our Macmillan Unit charity own The Grove Hotel in
Bournemouth, a unique hotel specifically for guests with a life
limiting condition and their carers/family/friends to enjoy a break,
safe in the knowledge a nurse is on duty 24-hours a day.
We are delighted to enclose a link to our new video. Please take a
look and consider circulating to your patients or carers but most of
all please let staff know about this facility.

There are a number of charities who can provide financial support
towards a break for patients or carers, subject to their individual
criteria. Details of these are available on request.
A nurse is on duty 24-hours a day for reassurance and support. Care
can be outsourced. A break at this hotel takes pressure off of the
health care system, for a short while at least. It is an amazing
facility funded by our charity Macmillan Caring Locally and so very
few people know about it.
